The Miamina chair was design in 1984 by Salvati & Tresoldi as a reinterpretation of the “Tripolina” chair, the folding seat in wood and fabric used by the Italian and British army in North Africa in XIX century. The variation of the name, from “Tripolina” to “Miamina” was an homage to the opening of the Saporiti Italia showroom in Miami, in the same year.
The seat was originally made with the multi-colored fabrics designed by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni Saporiti Italia. It can be now made with all the fabrics and leathers of the Saporiti Italia collection.
