Organized by Saporiti Italia 101 years after the birth of Alberto Rosselli, one of the founders of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design, and the Compasso d’Oro Award, the exhibition explores the work of one of the great masters of Italian design, art director of Saporiti Italia from 1966 to 1976.
Hosted by ADI Design Museum in Milan, the exhibition, curated by Federica Sala and designed by Marti Guixé, presents a series of original iconic pieces, historical documents and the contemporary reinterpretation of 100 Jumbo chairs coloured by ten international architectural firms that together with an original 1968 Moby Dick chaise longue, give the exhibition its “101” name.
The 100 Jumbo chairs made with 100 different colors, chosen by Fuksas Architects, Marti Guixé, Toshiyuki Kita, Mauro Lipparini, Park Associati, Portman Architects, SITE James Wines, Storagemilano, S20M and Carlos Zapata, together with the original white Moby Dick chaise longue are auctioned by Cambi Auction House, simultaneously with the exhibition, from October 7th to November 7th 2022, with the proceeds destinated to support the activities of the Sergio Saporiti Study and Research Center in the world of culture, design and creativity.
