James and I chose ‘green’ as our colour for the monumental installation of 100 Jumbo chairs at the exhibition on Alberto Rosselli’s work for Saporiti Italia.

Our decision was based on SITE long-standing interest in environmental issues, as they relate to art, design, and architecture.

We especially prefer dark green.
So, in this case, we made a selection that we felt would translate advantageously into a large-scale furniture piece and might also adapt comfortably when displayed in nature.
In a certain way, we hope our choice reflects Gauguin’s observation concerning his own rationale for the expansive use of this colour in painting: “a meter of green is greener than a centimeter”.

The collaboration between Saporiti Italia and SITE James Wines has led in the past to the creation of some extraordinary design objects, in particular the Eco-Chair collection.
This is why Saporiti Italia asked Suzan and James Wines to choose ten colors for the Jumbos of the 100 + 1 Exhibition.
